A sylibus of our "Year and Then Some" class.
Class One: Introduction
Grounding, tree meditation, energy work, importance of journal. Talk about creating your own reality by your thoughts and choices. Take a vow of confidentiality.
Class Two: Magical Tools
What is Magic? Overview of working tools and their correspondences. Some history and lore regarding tools. In depth look at various meanings of magic. Assignment on experiencing elements.
Class Three: Working with the elements
Sharing experiences around elemental exercise. Working with elemental qualities from the handouts. Meaning of the pentagram. Casting circle by voice. What are elemental archetypes, place King Arthur, Gwenevere, Joan of Arc, and Robin Hood. Why?
Class Four: Using Quarter Calls
Descriptions of basic types of calls as per handouts. How to use the elemental pentagram for invoking. Personalizing the experience. Assignment to write quarter calls to determine the direction that you are the most attuned to. Bring a tool to be concencrated at next class
Class Five: Concentration Ritual
Circle ethics discussed. Altar set up. Sharing quarter calls that were written. Students will call quarters using them. Some discussion on timing of ritual. Phases of moon, etc. Discussion on concencration. Reason, history. Open circle to concencrate tools. Discussion on sacred space, daily practices.
Class Six: Astral Temple
Inner sacred space. Development of will. Using all senses. finding your myth. Recognizing what your triggers are. Modality talk.
Class Seven: Ethics
Why we are who we are. Choosing your direction. Karma and Dharma. Reincarnation. What is dogma? Wiccan Rede. Three fold law. Thelmic Law. Magus Law. Personal responsibility. How do you fit your Myth. Discussion on Wiccan structure, respect of elders.
Class Eight: History of Craft
Time line of important events. Cultural perspectives. Indigenous versus technical lifestyles. Gardenarian witch craft.
Class Nine: Full Moon Right
Open circle completely explained and performed. Students take part. Begin practice at home on regular basis. Circles will often be part of class and students will take all parts including center. At least one circle to be performed and written on before next class.
Class Ten: Talisman Creation class
Explanation of talismanic working. Creating talismen in class then charging in circle. Students will call quarters and charge own creation. Use of talisman discussed.
Class Eleven: LBRP
Completely explained with hand-outs and study guides. Students will then be walked through ritual with time to ask questions. Look at effects of ritual in daily life.
Class twelve: Center
The spiritual aspects of what we do. Religion and the brain. What are your anchors? How to evoke spirit within yourself. Assignment - To create tape to stimulate those moments through music. Pick a God/Goddess from myth to study and write about. New Moon and Full Moon. Watch movie.
Class Thirteen: Mythological Handouts
Main pantheons worked with in craft. Tied to agricultural rhythms. Assignment - Read creation myths. Myth structure handouts. Movie.
Class Fourteen: Continue Myth work
Go over stories. Possible movie.
Class Fifteen: Dedication
Reasons for and goals. Explain ceremony and give ritual handout. Review and questions. Give midterm exam.
Class Sixteen: Review of exams.
Class Seventeen: Sabbats, The Wheel of the Year
How it is practiced and why. The solar holidays. Cultural background. Drawing the wheel. Assignment - bring materials for treasure map.
Class Eighteen: Sympathetic magic
How it works and why. As above so below. Examples shared from everyday life and magical life. Living the magical life. Creating a treasure map with focus and charging. Assignment - Bring a rainbow set of colored candles.
Class Nineteen: Candle Magic
Color correspondences. Basic focusing. Dressing a candle. Do ritual in class. Do spell at home and write about results.
Class Twenty: Psychic Development
Working with the lesser used senses. In what way was this developed within us? Intuition. Exercises for sensing and seeing the aura. Astral projection. Vision work. Practice in class and at home.
Class Twenty One: Healing
Working with the chakras and energy. Explanation of Reiki. Hands on work at massage table. Aura colors as related to other color correspondences. Ethics of healing. Healing practices as related to the craft.
Class Twenty-two: Divination
What is intuition in regards to divination? Basic phycomitry. To begin in this class a quick over-view of several types of divination. Bringing in others who work with these skills.
Class Twenty-three: Divination
Continue with examples and begin to be aware of when something begins to feel correct for you. If possible have students practice in class and ask direct questions.
Class Twenty-four: Stone Magic
Working with crystals. What types and properties relating to healing and other lore. Some discussion on other nature based disciplines such as working with devas or fairies
Class Twenty-five: Herbs and Incense
Properties of herbs. Healing modalities. How to create a formula. How to harvest and prepare. This class is a very brief over-view of a lifetime of study.
Class Twenty-six: Guided Meditation
This powerful tool has been used throughout this course of study. This is an explanation of how to create a guided meditation to purpose. How to use in circle. The difference between guided meditation and trance. Where each modality is best used. Students will write a guided meditation and practice it.
Class Twenty-seven: Ritual Construction
How to put a meaningful ritual together. Aspects of drama and myth. How to bring everyone in on the working. How to responsibly handle energy in a group situation. Knowing what you need and how to plan for it. Students will write a ritual to be performed
Class Twenty-eight: Aspecting
Learning to work with divine energy safely. Introduction to “Drawing Down” the Sun and Moon. When and why this might be used. The obvious difficulties. How to work with this energy without it over whelming you. Students will have an opportunity to practice in circle. Hand out final exam.
Class Twenty-nine: Initiation
What is the purpose of initiation. What happens and why. The effect on both parties involved. Review of final exam. In depth review and discussion of craft.
Class Thirty: Congratulatory meeting!
Planning initiations etc.Would like to see work done on the following:
